LINDA NICHOLS (Vocals)

Linda can remember listening and singing along with the radio at the age of 3. Linda’s mom bought her sheet music by Brenda Lee and she would sing her heart out for her family and friends. By the age of 5 Linda was singing in church and for her Brownie Troop. She was involved in music in high school and even tried to form a band. That fell through when her dad didn’t want her singing in bars.

After high school Linda married Jim Nichols. That is when they met Lonnie Bane, Verlin Tiemeyer, and David Ullsperger and formed the band Rock Country Revival, that later became Dusty Blue Band.

Linda believes Dusty Blue is a success because of the family ties they have. They are not just music acquaintances, they are family. Linda says, “I believe God gave me the voice to sing and I have been using it for over 58 years. We not only raised our own two children, but all those young men who were like our own. God bless the new and old members of the Dusty Blue Band.”

JIM NICHOLS (Lead Guitar & Vocals)
Pic Coming Soon

Jim started singing around the age of 5. He would sing “My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It” for his grandma. Jim’s first try at guitar came when he was 8 years old. His dad tried to teach him, but Jim was left handed and things didn’t work out. He once again tried to learn guitar as a teenager, but sports and girls got in the way. Jim played trumpet in the school band in high school and also joined a group for a talent show at his school. Jim still didn’t play guitar. He played the drums.

On Jim’s 21st birthday his mom and dad bought him a Gibson ES-330 guitar that he still has today. He started taking lessons from a lady by the name of Grace Schriener. That is where he met Lonnie Bane and Verlin Tiemeyer. Even though they were only 14 years old they were instant friends. They practiced a couple times without a drummer then found a drummer by the name of David Ullsperger. Jim’s wife Linda went a few times to practice and everything clicked. They then formed the band Rock Country Revival that would later be Dusty Blue Band.

Jim has met many friends over the years through the Dusty Blue Band. They are still all friends today. Jim enjoys playing music and says, “There is no one else I’d rather play music with than my friends in the Dusty Blue Band.”
